Liferay Portal Enterprise Edition (EE) is a commercialy supported version of the portal. Liferay EE includes patches and updates through an Enterprise subscription, and a support contract allowing business-critical support provided by the Liferay Engineering team throught the world.

In addition, each release of Liferay EE is guaranteed to be supported by Liferay over serveral years, allowing organizations to decide when to upgrade to future versions of the portal on their own terms.

Liferay Portal EE is available with two levels of support, Gold and Platinum. Subscriptions are sold on a per server basis (physical or virtual).
